I just experienced the worst customer service in my life at this shell location. Mind you I pay my taxes in this town and was just treated l and threaten to have the police called on me! Also
Was refused service! That said, the store worker clearly was under the influence of some type of drug and or alcohol. It’s bad enough being judged as an American American in this world. But this experience is needs to handled.
RETRACTED ORIGINAL HEADLINE: BOYCOTT SHELL WESTPORT
I was surprised to find the Shell Westport (until recently Sunoco Westport) service station has placed many large fabric banners and cardboard signs alongside Post Road prominently advertising/marketing vaping paraphernalia and supplies – right here in downtown Westport! In plain view of all passing children and adults. Really???
I AND MY FAMILY ARE NOW BOYCOTTING SHELL WESTPORT. We now purchase our gas just up the road with the friendly and community minded co-owners Jay & Bob at Phillips 66 service station (485 Post Rd E.). I encourage all Westport residents and visitors to do the same. Shell Westport can cater to either drug users or families purchasing gas, but not both. Your choice! (And theirs.) Thanks.
RESPONSE TO OWNERS COMMENTS BELOW:
Both the U.S. Surgeon General and the National Academies of Science, Engineering & Medicine have warned about the risks of inhaling secondhand e-cigarette emissions, concluding that secondhand emissions contain: "nicotine; ultrafine particles; flavorings such as diacetyl, a chemical linked to serious lung disease; volatile organic compounds such as benzene, which is found in car exhaust; and heavy metals, such as nickel, tin, and lead."
UPDATE 04/20/2022:
I drove by this gas station today and to my surprise = and appreciation = the many VAPING banners and placards were gone! I do not know if my initial 1 star rating and complaint had anything to do with removal of the VAPING advertising, but out of fairness I am changing my rating to a 3 stars (from 1).
I appreciate the most recent actions of the owners and commend them for doing right by our children and community (whatever the reason). Thanks.
